Grandma Rogers will be always in our hearts!

After we celebrated Christmas in Utah, weeks later we received sad news about Grandma Rogers passing away. It was really sad to know that we won’t be able to be close to her anymore. On the other hand we are happy for Grandma that she is no longer in pain. She will be able to be with her husband for eternity. I’m so grateful for the gospel in our lives. It brings us happiness and peace in difficult times. Scott and I flew to Utah for Grandma Rogers funeral services. It was very special to say good bye to Grandma Rogers. Scott had 4 days off for work for bereavement leave. We decided to spend that week in Utah and to be with his dad for support during this difficult time. Justin and Nicole weren’t sure if they would be able to be at Grandma’s viewing. So that they could be there we took care of Addilyn and Jake (Justin and Nicole’s children). It was fun to get to know Jake more. Addylin was sleeping but you can feel the peace that her smiling face transmits. We were so amazed at how smart Jake is. He is really smart and so cute. He is like a sponge that can absorb everything that you can teach him. We really enjoyed our time with them.  After Grandma Rogers’s services we spent some valuable time with Scott’s family during that week. We went to Brigham City Temple and we participated in an endowment session with Scott’s dad. It was really nice.  We also went sledding with Scott’s family which was a lot of fun. It was my first time playing in the snow. We also went to a Peruvian restaurant in Clearfield for dinner but it wasn’t good.  It was ok. Our last Saturday in UT Scott, Justin (Scott’s brother) and his dad went snowboarding and skiing. They spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon together. It was really nice that they could have had some time together. While they were having fun doing what they like most. Barbara (my mother in law) and I went shopping. It was really fun. I usually go shopping alone, or sometimes with Scott which is not the best because men don’t like shopping!. It was really fun to go with Barbara. I got some stuff that I needed and I wanted. It is difficult to find some things here in Visalia. I mean churchy stuff. I love Downeast and every time I go out of Visalia I have to search on Google if there is any Downeast store close by. Finally our last Sunday we went to Church with Scott’s parents and then we had lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Thomas at their house. After lunch we went to SLC Airport to fly back to California.
