Time flies! I can't believe 2013 it's almost gone. I am now planning my 2014
primary schedule. I will have a primary presidency meeting on Sunday and I
wanted to have everything organized for next year. I finally finished with my
2014 program. I will just need to coordinate with my counselors on Sunday and
add some awesome ideas that they will probably have. I also bought some primary
planner templates online that I think will work perfect for the primary
presidency and chorister. I just needed to print them out at home. It took me a
few hours but I did it! I went today to staples to print the planner covers and
bind them. I thought that it would cost more than I paid . For some reason when
I usually do something for primary at Staples I get amazing discounts :) I
think this planners will help us a lot with primary! I am so excited to give
these planners to my counselors and chorister in primary.

Grandpa's Gift!
After we told my parents that we are expecting a baby girl. My dad bought a
gift for our baby. It is the first gift that she will receive. He bought to her
a pair of golden earrings. It is so sweet of my dad! In Peru most of the baby
girls usually wear their first pair of earrings during the first year of being
born. The earrings that the babies use are usually very small. It could be a
stone or small pearl.
Turkey Toss Game - Primary Sharing Time
On Sunday November 17th I did sharing time in primary. The lesson was about Temporal
Blessings. I usually do 3 to 4 activities to keep the children busy and not
bored. I usually start doing an activity to find out the topic of the lesson.
It could be a puzzle, matching games, looking for a picture hidden in the
classroom, invisible ink, etc. After that I start teaching the lesson. At the
end I finish with a fun activity related to the lesson. It could be word
search, pop balloons and answer questions, etc. For Senior sharing time I
change a little bit the lesson. I also use the scriptures more with them. To
finish the complete lessons I show a short video related to the lesson. I find
these videos in mormon channel. I like to keep the children busy with different
activities so that they don't get bored. It really works!
This Week I found a great idea on the internet about a turkey toss game. I made the turkeys and got some beanbags. It was very easy. My children have a lot of fun. My lesson was about temporal blessings. I put some questions in the back of each turkey tails. Once the children knocked the turkey off the table by throwing the bean bag they had to answer the question. Of course the questions were related to the topic of the lesson.
This is how I did the turkey game:
I printed the tails on colored cardstock and the feet on orange cardstock. I also taped 2 coins to the bottom of the feet so that the turkey stands up right. The head and front of the turkey I printed on white cardstock. I embellished them by coloring the tips of the feathers and the giblet. I used a balloon for the body. I made 12 turkeys. I put them on a table in primary and we had a lot of FUN!

Primary November 10, 2013
On Friday afternoon I received a phone call from one of my
counselors. She wasn’t feeling well and she asked me to teach her lesson for sharing
time. I was happy to be able to help her
with sharing time. I prepared the lesson that day. I usually prepare my lessons a week ahead of
time so that I can make fun activities for the Junior and Senior classes. I did some fun activities with the Junior
class. The lesson was about Spiritual
Blessings. At the end of the lesson I asked them to draw a picture about
something special that they are thankful for.
I asked some of the children to share their drawings with the class.
Noah who is in CTR 4 told me that he drew me. He said “Sister Rogers I made
you!” That was so sweet of him! He said “Sorry
that I didn’t draw you with hair. I don’t know yet how to do that.” I said it’s
ok it looks great! . He also told me that he always likes to make everyone happy.
I love to work in primary I’m learning a lot from the children!
Relief Society Craft Day!
Last Saturday November 9th the Relief Society in my ward organized a craft day. I decided to go to have a nice day with the sisters in my ward. Every Sunday I spend all of my time in the Primary and I don’t have time to enjoy Relief Society meetings. I am glad that I can participate in these activities and learn more about the Gospel and enjoy of fun activities. In this activity I made a Christmas sign and a temple block ( a block of wood with the picture of the temple). I chose the picture of the Salt Lake City Temple, it reminds me of beautiful memories when Scott and I were married. I had so much fun at the activity. Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious lunch.

5 months pregnant :)
I can't believe how time flies. I will be 21 weeks on Sunday November 10th . We have to
wait just 19 weeks to have our baby girl with us! We need to start working on
the nursery room and do some shopping for our little angel :)
Boy or Girl?
We had an appointment on October the 28th to find out if we are having a
boy or a girl. We went to Fresno for my appointment. Scott always felt that
it's going to be a girl and I always thought that it will be a boy. For some
reason I was sure that I'm having a boy. The day came and we recorded this
especial event to share it with my family who live in Peru. That day in the
afternoon we announced to Scott's family by Skype what we are having. We bought
some clothes to show them the gender of our baby. It is a GIRL! We are so
excited for that. Scott is more excited than I because I will have a company
now to go shopping :) hehehehe
Moving into a House!
Before we find out that we are expecting we decided that we need to move
into a house. We knew that our apartment was too small and we wanted to have
extra space to receive some family over to visit us and to have extra space in
case we were blessed with a baby. Now we know that our family is growing :)
We didn't have too much time to pack. We really needed some help. We were in Monterrey the weekend before we moved. I knew that Scott was busy with work. I was with morning sickness and I knew that I should not carry heavy boxes. During that trip to Monterrey my friend Paige, from Idaho who came for the summer to Visalia offered to help me pack. I called her after we came home from Monterrey and she helped me pack. She came over for two or three days to help me and we finished on time. We were almost ready to move. Our friends who went with us to Monterrey helped us move. They were so nice to us. We used a trailer for free and had people who helped Scott with the move. Now the fun work came, unpack all the boxes :/ My friend Paige asked me at church if I needed help unpacking and I said yes. She came over twice and helped me unpack everything. She helped me a lot. I would not be able to finish everything alone. Scott is usually busy with work. He helped me for a few hours in the evenings. I'm so grateful for the friends that we made at church. We never felt alone even though our families live far away. Heavenly Father is always watching over us.

Scott's Birthday!
We and some friends from church were planning to go to Monterrey
sometime in August and of course we planned this before I found out that I was
pregnant. We decided to go a weekend to Monterrey and celebrate Scott's
birthday there on August 25th. When the day came I really didn't want to go
because of my morning sickness. We were planning this trip since July and it
wasn't fair for Scott to cancel this trip. I decided to go and celebrate
Scott's birthday in Monterrey with good friends instead of being at home that
weekend with a wife with morning sickness. The trip was 4 hours driving from
Visalia. We carpooled with another couple from my ward and of course I told
them that I'm pregnant and I will probably need to stop sometimes to use the
restroom on our way to Monterrey. They were ok with that. Well that trip was
the longest trip ever for me. Using the restroom many times at different gas
stations and vomiting on my way to Monterrey wasn't fun. The best part was that
once we made it I was feeling much better and I could eat lunch. We spent a
nice weekend with our friends and Scott had a nice birthday :) I can say that
the trip was worth it!

Our Family is Growing ;)
After dinner on July 28, I felt so sick the next morning. I was feeling
very nauseous all day. I thought that I ate too much food the day before, when
we celebrated the Independence Day of my country with a dinner. I was sick all
morning that day. I needed to eat something in the afternoon and I opened the
refrigerator and I saw Peruvian food left overs and I just saw the food and I
wanted to puke. I decided to throw away all my left overs. I was sick for the
next two days. I decided to go to the doctor but first I felt that I needed to
take a home pregnancy test. On July 31, I was feeling sick yet, also hungry
because I hadn't eaten well for the previous 3 days because of the nauseas. I
told Scott to take me to subway that was the only food that I wanted to eat.
After we ate at subway we went to the pharmacy to buy the home pregnancy test.
That night we find out that I was PREGNANT! :) I couldn't believe it. I didn't
believe it until we went to see the doctor. The following week we went to see
the doctor. He confirmed that I'm pregnant. We felt so blessed. We always feel
so blessed by Heavenly Father but in this occasion this news was an answer to
our prayers. We know that Heavenly Father always listen to our prayers and
that he answers them in the right time. Sometimes he answers our prayers
quickly and other times we have to wait patiently.
After the good news I was sick for the next following two months. I had bad morning sickness. I always thought that being pregnant is not a sickness but I never experienced that feeling until now. I was throwing up in the mornings and feeling sick with stomach aches. It wasn't fun but I can say that it is worth it because a baby is growing inside me and it's amazing!
